The Passing Days…

On Sunday, I was able to concelebrate the 10:30 AM Mass at the Altar of the Chair in St. Peter’s Basilica. I don’t usually get to do since I try to attend Sunday Mass at the priest house, but the exam time always allows for a little flexibility. After the Mass, I attended the Pope’s Sunday Angelus. Here’s a picture:

All right, I know who you really want to see. Here’s a close-up:

I think the Pope was saying something like, “Go, Saints!”

Sunday afternoon, I spent some time working at my desk. I don’t usually like to do academic work on Sunday, but I’m trying to get one aspect of my research complete.

On Monday morning, I celebrated Mass at the Altar of St. Michael in St. Peter’s Basilica. A friend is visiting Rome and Monday was a milestone birthday for him. He attended the Mass. Here’s a picture of the Mass:

I love that a little nun joined in for the Mass! After Mass and breakfast, I spent the day back at my desk. It was a long day, but I got a lot done. Last night, I went to supper with the friend visiting Rome and with another student priest. It was a good time.

This morning, I celebrated Mass at the Altar of St. Jerome (where John XXIII rests). The seminarian from my diocese attended the Mass. After Mass and breakfast, I had a meeting at the university and then some work at my desk. And, here I am! The time just seems to fly…
